Our board is comprised of a chair, vice-chair, treasurer, secretary and directors. Many of us knew each other from volunteering at the shelter. From that – as well as what we all saw as the need around us – discussions sprang up about what we could do to better assist the shelter and the animals.

Groundwork began in the spring of 2013 and we held our first organizing meeting in May. We approved by-laws and a charter, applied for charitable status, chose officers and we were underway.

Copies of our by-laws and articles of incorporation are available at the shelter and we would be glad to review them on an appointment basis.

We meet the first Tuesday of every month at 5 pm, in the Howell Carnegie District Library in the Colbert Room.

Please come and join us, find out more about what we want to accomplish and share any ideas that you may have for making LCAS an even better facility.
